About Us
Meet "the Professor"
Hamilton Performance Engines has been building custom engines for racers, hot rodders, and restorers since 1987. Every engine that leaves this shop is built by hand, by "The Professor", to spec, with zero shortcuts.
39 Years. One Standard.
Hamilton Performance Engines was founded on a simple belief: if you're going to build an engine, build it right. No crate engines. No assembly-line shortcuts. Every combination is engineered from the ground up for the application it's going into.
The Professor — as he's known on the circuit — has spent nearly four decades perfecting his craft. From dirt track cars to blown flathead, hot rods, marine and frame-off classic restorations, the work speaks for itself.
We're a complete in-house machine shop. That means boring, honing, grinding, balancing, and final assembly all happen under one roof, with one set of eyes on every tolerance. When you pick up your engine, it's ready to run.
What Sets Us Apart
Flathead Specialists
One of the few shops in the country with deep expertise in flathead builds. If you want it done right, you know where to come.
Complete Machine Shop
Full in-house machining — boring, honing, crankshaft balancing, head resurfacing, align boring, and pressure testing. No farming out.
Race Proven
Our engines have won on dirt tracks, asphalt ovals, drag strips, and the salt flats. The results are the resume.
No Crate Engines
Every engine is built from scratch for your application. We don't bolt together off-the-shelf combinations and call it custom.
Muscle Car Engines
Custom performance builds for American muscle — big blocks, small blocks, and everything in between. Built to make real power, not just look good on paper.
Restoration Engines
Period-correct rebuilds that bring your classic back to original spec — or better. We understand what these cars mean and treat every restoration accordingly.
Street Rod Engines
Street rods demand an engine that's as reliable as it is impressive. We build combinations that cruise all day and turn heads at every stop.
Let's Talk About Your Build
Whether you're planning a race engine, a hot rod, or a restoration — we'd love to hear what you're working on.
